One of the biggest mistakes in traditional Christianity is the mistranslation of two words into “eternal” that actually mean an age- a stated period of time. From this St. Augustine came up with the eternal hell and punishment reward system. God is so UN-LOVING that He came up with a plan to send 90% of His created beings to an eternal hell, and especially infants and babies who’ve not been ritually baptized or old enough to say the name of JAY-ZUS! How can the church keep peddling such blatant and obvious crap? Continue Reading »

I don’t use the over-worked and Hollywood-church hyped hell concept: I believe in divine judgment. In other words, instead of believing that a God who came up with a plan for 90% of the world to be eternally tormented in some sort of physical-spiritual fire, I believe in a God who is JUST! Tell me, where’s the justice in infinite torment for finite sins? Come on! Surely you give God more credit than that! Don’t you? Here’s what I’ve gleaned by the Spirit about divine judgment. What we say, what the church usually preaches, and how we act, seems to be stripping the spiritual gears of our lives. The church says that God is omnisicient- the people agree. We add to that the fact that God is omnipotent- the people agree once more. And then the church preaches about the power of hell, how sin rules our lives. And, how the reward of our free will (which is now more powerful than God- thus subverting God’s will!) places us in an eternal fire- forever and ever, without end! SAY WHAT? Continue Reading »

Don’t you think it strange that none of the early church councils spoke or wrote about an “eternal punishment” for the first four centuries plus? And isn’t it a bit odd that most early church fathers were not in the eternal hell-fire and brimstone paradigm? But, then in 553CE the Catholic church (can you say needing control?) declares that the concept of “Ultimate Reconciliation” is pure bunk and heresy. Fearful of losing control and in need of a fear-factor that would keep people indebted to the church-mediated, sacramental grace paradigm, hell became the weekly topic. Repent you damn sinners you, or else God will burn your butt for ALL of ETERNITY- and that’s a very, very long time. And guess what! Continue Reading »

And that is exactly what an eternal hell would be! Think about it! Why would God want to torment and burn (how does that work, even metaphorically?) someone in this place called hell (a fictional word from the Dante’s Divine Comedy)? Doesn’t infinite punishment for finite sins seem a bit severe? Where’s the LOVE? Seriously, if God is love, and you can’t read the New Testament and not come to that conclusion, tell me how this is love. If God is JUST, and I believe He is, how can anyone say this is justice? Seriously! Continue Reading »

I simply can’t help myself. I guess I am hopelessly addicted but to the things of God primarily, so the addiction can’t be all bad. Right? A friend of mine, Gregory Gibson, is the reason and cause of this web site. I am into the Kingdom of God , and what happens after we leave this 3rd dimension is part of that, but not all of it. But some people are fixated on hell. Many people hear that God is love, and then go to church to be beat up and threatened with an everlasting hell for lying, saying a curse word, or watching a PG-13 movie (PG is you’re a fundamentalist). So, for those of you who have such interests should find this web site water for your thirst. Hopefuly. Continue Reading »
