Unfortunately, the image people have of their earthly father is the one they adopt as the heavenly father. Sad! Worse yet is the overall VIEW that we have of this parson called God. Call Him Father, and even call Him “abba Father” but don’t get dumped into that anthropomorphic paradigm where you see Him as a male parent. That will totally disappoint you. Next thing you know you’ll be looking at the childhood “time out” as an “adult hell after death“.

If you believe in an “eternal hell“, your view of God, no matter what you think is not going to be a good one. And then our view of God determines how we view and live life, which leads to how we treat others, which is ultimately not good.

Christianity is really defined, for me, as seeing divinity in everyone!

When you see Jesus in everyone, you see Jesus in God. And when you see Jesus in God, you see such love that an eternal hell is so crazy to not even be considered. Divine judgment (as I’ve already defined in earlier posts) is a must for a just God.

Eternal hell is a characteristic of an unjust god.
