C.S. Lewis Says…

People are amazed that some of the evangelical and orthodox (?) spiritual giants do not believe in an eternal hell. My commentary of earlier this week about Billy Graham had many people running for the Google bar to check it out. Maybe even Wikipedia! But, you have to ask yourself, is there one bullet left or did we use them all? How many of the major national ministries who say nothing about hell are mum for the very reason that they don’t want to lie, or tell the truth and lose half of their ministry. I could give you a list, but I won’t. :-)

What I will do is add another name to the list of one who now knows the truth- C.S. Lewis.

God is Love. Hell is Not.

Your whole logo for your church sounds a bit bitter…pun is intended. There is a hell and there is a heaven. God is balanced and whole and complete and in order for goodness to exist, there’s need to be the opposite. Plus, there would be no other reason for Jesus to die on the cross, other than to save us from hell! You are deceiving many and will be held accountable for knowing what you know, and turning away from it. God is love but He is also just…His ways and words are True for the purpose of displaying His justness. We cannot compare it to ways of the world, including what we have perceived as love in this world. A father disciplines his child when they are in harms way because he loves them. He does not tell them ‘I love you,’ and just allow for his child to be harmed in a circumstance of danger and expect his child to be safe. God rebukes those He loves and disciplines His children. He does not just say, ‘I love you,’ and walk off. Too many are trying to justify God in their own ways, but He is not like us, nor thinks like us and you cannot justify Him either because of that. The real thing to focus on is repentance, allowing Him to take over your life, having an intimate relationship with Him, and stop trying to say there isn’t something, when there is; when it’s thoroughly stated throughout His word. Go back to the beginning and read where it began. Learn to love Him first instead of trying to love the world first. Because if you don’t love Him and understand Him; you don’t have anything and you cannot Truly love others the way God does.
